(From Mr. Gill's Boston Journal of Jan. 2, 1777.)
A Proclamation, at the point of the sword,
Prepar'd to taste by an Irish Lord.
He comes with a branch of the fam'd Olive Tree,
To give peace to the land, and set a world free,
He comes in the name of the sweetest of Kings;
And pardons or bulls in both pockets he brings.
Whereas our former declarations,
And diverse recent proclamations,
Of humane George's kind intention
To his good subjects, as we'll mention.
